Hi, I’m Tommy Ashton — a CPA with over 18 years of corporate accounting and finance experience, specializing in building and scaling accounting operations for growing companies.

I founded Slope to help start-ups and small and mid-sized businesses grow without the constant stress of back-office operations, financial uncertainty, and reactive decision-making. Too many great businesses struggle not because of bad ideas or poor execution, but because they lack clear financial structure and strategic guidance.

My Background

I’ve spent my career building accounting functions, not just maintaining them. My experience comes from real operational environments from companies growing incredibly fast.

Most notably, I served as Head of Accounting at the fintech startup Divvy, where I helped scale the accounting operations from $3M in revenue to over $150M, supporting rapid growth, infrastructure build-out, and operational maturity.

That journey ultimately led to Divvy’s acquisition by BILL.com in a $2.5 billion transaction, where I continued to lead BILL’s accounting operations functions.
